25hours Hotel The Olympia

- 109Rooms
Inspected by CVBS
A 109 room lifestyle hotel on Oxford Street, Paddington, built on the heritage listed site of the former West Olympia Theatre and opened in October 2025. Two event rooms, The Academy for 100 cocktail and The Odeon for 30, plus a rooftop for 150.
It reaches shortlists for the building, not the numbers. The cinema theme runs from the entrance to the meeting rooms, and the restaurant, bars and rooftop all hire out, which makes it a strong room for launches, client evenings and incentive stays in the eastern suburbs.
What it suits
Good for
- Product launches and client evenings to 150 on the rooftop
- Dinners to 80 seated in The Academy, or 100 in the restaurant
- Board meetings, workshops and screenings to 30 in The Odeon
- Incentive and small residential groups wanting Paddington rather than the CBD
Look elsewhere for
- A plenary or conference program of any real size
- Anything above 100 seated in one room
- Exhibitions or trade floors
The event floor
The Academy takes the reception or the dinner and The Odeon is the screening room, with tiered lounge seating and a boardroom table. For anything bigger or more social, the hotel hires out its rooftop, restaurant and bars.
Accommodation
109 rooms from 22 to 50 square metres, in queen, king, twin and family layouts. Some rooms open onto private terraces.
If you need the beds without the ballroom, that is a normal brief and we run it on its own. See group accommodation for how a room block is held, and corporate accommodation for an ongoing rate program.
The rest of the building
Restaurants, bars and public areas.

Where these figures come from, and why a dash is not a zero
A dash means the hotel publishes no figure for that setup. It does not mean the room cannot be set that way, only that we will not print a number the venue has not published.
Every figure is read from the hotel’s own meetings and occasions page, checked 22 September 2026. Never estimated, never taken from a directory.
Accor’s booking page gives The Academy’s 100 as a maximum seated figure. The hotel’s own page gives it as cocktail, and we use the hotel’s page.
The building
Bigger rooms in Sydney
The Academy tops out at 80 seated, so a plenary or a larger dinner moves to one of the city’s hotel ballrooms. Each figure below is read from that venue’s own published material. This is not a survey of the whole Sydney market, only the rooms we checked to make sure nothing on this page overstates the building.

Recent changes
New in October 2025. The hotel opened on 9 October 2025 as the first 25hours in Australia, part of Ennismore, the Accor joint venture. Any Paddington venue list older than that will not carry it.

Questions organisers ask
What size event can it hold?
The Academy is the main event room, 156 square metres, taking 100 for a cocktail reception or 80 for a banquet. The Odeon is a 60 square metre screening room for 30 with tiered lounge seating. Above that, the hotel hires out its restaurant, bars and rooftop.
Can you take over the rooftop or the restaurant?
Yes. The hotel lists its rooftop bar at 235 square metres for 150 guests, the restaurant at 327 square metres for 100 and the cocktail and wine bar at 128 square metres for 90. For a launch or a client evening those are the rooms that make the building worth choosing.
Is it a conference hotel?
No. It is a 109 room lifestyle hotel with two event rooms and four food and drink venues. It suits boards, workshops, launches, dinners and incentive stays, not a plenary.
When did it open?
On 9 October 2025, as the first 25hours hotel in Australia. It sits on the heritage listed site of the former West Olympia Theatre on Oxford Street, Paddington, and the cinema history runs through the whole design.

Sources, photography and how we work
Capacities read from the venue’s own published material on 22 September 2026. Comparison figures read from each named venue’s own published material on the same date.
We do not see every room on every visit. Where we were not in a room, its figures come from the venue's own chart rather than from us. We do not rate or score venues and we do not publish rates.
Our service is free to you. We are independent of every venue we put forward, no venue is favoured, and your interests come first.
