Inspected by CVBS
A 79 room Kimpton resort in Santa Ponsa, on Mallorca’s south west coast, and the brand’s first resort in Europe when it opened in October 2022. Its largest room is the Llum Ballroom, 249 square metres, for 230 at banquet or 350 for a reception, with a terrace alongside. Four meeting rooms sit on the ground floor, and outside there is a garden for 250 and a rooftop for 150.
It reaches shortlists for the setting rather than the size. It suits an incentive, a leadership retreat or a board offsite that wants the whole group sleeping on site, with gardens, two outdoor pools and an indoor pool in the spa. The limit is the room count: 79 rooms will not hold every delegate for a full ballroom conference.
What it suits
Good for
- Incentive programs and leadership retreats that want a resort on Mallorca with every guest on site
- Gala dinners of up to 230 in the Llum Ballroom, or 220 in L’Illa Garden
- Welcome receptions of up to 350 in the ballroom, 250 in the garden or 150 on the rooftop
- Board meetings and workshops of 9 to 60, with three rooms that open into one
- Programs built around golf, with the Santa Ponsa courses next door
Look elsewhere for
- A residential conference that needs more than 79 rooms under one roof
- A dinner above 230 indoors, or a plenary above 230 in one room
- Exhibitions or trade floors, since there is no exhibition hall
The event floor
The Llum Ballroom and its terrace, four meeting rooms on the ground floor, a garden and a rooftop. The hotel’s events brochure also lists its pool club and restaurant terraces, so a program can move between indoor and outdoor rooms across a day.
Accommodation
79 rooms and suites set around Mallorcan style patios, from 45 square metres, in room types with a balcony, a double balcony or a private garden, up to a presidential suite. The spa, 900 square metres, has an indoor pool.
If you need the beds without the ballroom, that is a normal brief and we run it on its own. See group accommodation for how a room block is held, and corporate accommodation for an ongoing rate program.

Where these figures come from, and why a dash is not a zero
A dash means the hotel publishes no figure for that setup. It does not mean the room cannot be set that way, only that we will not print a number the venue has not published.
Every figure is read from the capacity chart in the hotel’s own events brochure, checked 23 September 2026. Never estimated, never taken from a directory.
Where the hotel’s published figures differ between pages, we use the capacity chart in its own events brochure.
The building
Bigger rooms in Mallorca
The Llum Ballroom seats 230 for dinner, so a larger plenary moves to the Palma Congress Centre, read on 23 September 2026. Each figure below is read from that venue’s own published material. This is not a survey of the whole Mallorca market, only the rooms we checked to make sure nothing on this page overstates the building.
| Kimpton Aysla Mallorca, Llum Ballroom | 230 banquet, 350 cocktail |
|---|---|
| Palma Congress Centre, Illes Balears Auditorium | 1,966 seats |
Questions organisers ask
What size event can it hold?
The Llum Ballroom, on the first floor, is 249 square metres with a ceiling of three to six metres. The hotel’s chart gives it 350 for a cocktail reception, 230 at banquet, 110 cabaret, 105 classroom and 70 boardroom. The Llum Terrace alongside it, 125 square metres, takes 150 for a reception or 80 at banquet.
How many meeting rooms are there?
Four, on the ground floor. Fulles, Arrels and Branques are 32 square metres each, for 20 theatre or 9 boardroom, and open into one room for 60 theatre or 60 at banquet. Creuem, 55 square metres, takes 35 theatre or 22 boardroom.
What outdoor event space is there?
L’Illa Garden, 350 square metres, takes 250 for a reception or 220 at banquet. The Guaita rooftop, 214 square metres, takes 150 for a reception. The hotel’s events brochure also lists its pool club and restaurant terraces.
How many guest rooms does it have?
79, set around Mallorcan style patios, from 45 square metres. That suits an incentive or a leadership group. A residential conference that fills the ballroom needs a second hotel for part of the delegate block.
Where is it?
At Avenida del Golf 37 in Santa Ponsa, in Calvià on Mallorca’s south west coast, beside the Santa Ponsa golf courses. Palma is 14 kilometres away and Palma airport about 29.

Sources, photography and how we work
Capacities read from the venue’s own published material on 23 September 2026. Comparison figures read from each named venue’s own published material on the same date.
We do not see every room on every visit. Where we were not in a room, its figures come from the venue's own chart rather than from us. We do not rate or score venues and we do not publish rates.
Our service is free to you. We are independent of every venue we put forward, no venue is favoured, and your interests come first.
