Inspected by CVBS

A 195 room Kimpton resort in Marbella’s Los Monteros area, 500 metres from the Mediterranean. The hotel first opened in 1962 and reopened under Kimpton in 2025 after an extensive renovation. Its largest room is the Terra ballroom, for up to 350 guests, pillar-free and in daylight, with a private garden alongside. Four studio rooms sit upstairs, and there are 5,000 square metres of patios and gardens outside.

It suits an incentive, a leadership offsite or a conference of a few hundred that wants every delegate sleeping on site, with a beach club for the social program. What it will not do is a plenary above 350 in one room.

What it suits

Good for

  • Incentive programs and leadership retreats on the Costa del Sol with every guest on site
  • Conferences of up to 350 in one room, with the delegate block in the same hotel
  • Breakout days, with the ballroom split into three and four studio rooms upstairs
  • Garden receptions and coffee breaks across 5,000 square metres of patios
  • A beach club dinner or party as the social night of the program

Look elsewhere for

  • A plenary above 350 in one room
  • A residential conference that needs more than 195 rooms under one roof
  • Exhibitions or trade floors, since there is no exhibition hall

The event floor

The Terra ballroom on the ground floor, with its own garden and street entrance, four studio rooms upstairs in the reception building, and patios, a rooftop and a courtyard outside. A program can run the plenary indoors and move breaks and receptions into the open air.

Accommodation

195 rooms and suites, 60 of them suites, from balcony rooms of 28 to 31 square metres up to the 124 square metre Los Monteros Suite. Many categories have a terrace, and there are connecting family rooms.

Where these figures come from, and why a dash is not a zero

A dash means IHG publishes no figure for that setup. It does not mean the room cannot be set that way, only that we will not print a number the venue has not published.

Every figure is read from IHG’s own events page for the hotel, checked 23 September 2026. Never estimated, never taken from a directory.

IHG’s events page for the hotel gives the ballroom as up to 350 guests. The hotel’s own site and IHG’s opening announcement give other figures for the same room, so we publish the events page capacity and leave the floor area out.

Bigger rooms in Marbella

The Terra ballroom takes up to 350 guests, so a larger plenary moves to Marbella’s own congress centre or to Málaga, read on 23 September 2026. Each figure below is read from that venue’s own published material. This is not a survey of the whole Marbella market, only the rooms we checked to make sure nothing on this page overstates the building.

Recent changes

Reopened in 2025 after a full renovation. IHG announced the hotel’s opening as a Kimpton on 27 February 2025. The building dates from 1962; the interiors are by El Equipo Creativo and the guest rooms by Cristina Carulla Studio.

The beach club dresses for summer. The blue and white print in these photographs is the beach club’s seasonal summer look. Outside the season it may be dressed differently, so it is worth asking how it will look on your dates.

Sources, photography and how we work

Capacities read from the venue’s own published material on 23 September 2026. Comparison figures read from each named venue’s own published material on the same date.

We do not see every room on every visit. Where we were not in a room, its figures come from the venue's own chart rather than from us. We do not rate or score venues and we do not publish rates.

Our service is free to you. We are independent of every venue we put forward, no venue is favoured, and your interests come first.
