Inspected by CVBS
A 778 room Fairmont in Raffles City, in the middle of Singapore’s Civic District. Its largest room is the Fairmont Ballroom, 2,257 square metres with a 6 metre ceiling, for 3,000 theatre or 1,800 at banquet. Two more ballrooms and 34 meeting rooms in all make up Raffles City Convention Centre, the event floor it shares with the Swissôtel in the same complex.
It reaches shortlists for scale. It can hold a plenary in the thousands, feed the same group at dinner and sleep most of them upstairs, with the MRT underneath.
What it suits
Good for
- Conferences of up to 3,000 theatre style with the delegates staying upstairs
- Gala dinners and awards nights of up to 1,800 seated
- Two or three events at once across three ballrooms
- Programs with many breakouts, with meeting rooms from 44 to 183 square metres
- Delegates arriving by train, with City Hall MRT under the complex
Look elsewhere for
- A dinner above 1,800, which needs a convention centre ballroom
- A small board or incentive group that wants a boutique hotel feel
- A program that wants a resort setting rather than the middle of the city
Accommodation
778 rooms and suites, each with a private balcony, and a club lounge on the upper floors.
If you need the beds without the ballroom, that is a normal brief and we run it on its own. See group accommodation for how a room block is held, and corporate accommodation for an ongoing rate program.

Where these figures come from, and why a dash is not a zero
A dash means Fairmont publishes no figure for that setup. It does not mean the room cannot be set that way, only that we will not print a number the venue has not published.
Every figure is read from Fairmont’s meetings page and capacity chart for the hotel, checked 22 September 2026. Never estimated, never taken from a directory.
The table shows the rooms on the hotel’s published chart. The hotel describes 34 meeting rooms in all, and we confirm any room not shown here with the hotel before it reaches a shortlist.
The building
Bigger rooms in Singapore
The Fairmont Ballroom seats 1,800 for dinner, more than any other hotel ballroom we have records for in Singapore, so a larger dinner moves to a convention centre. This figure was read on 22 September 2026. Each figure below is read from that venue’s own published material. This is not a survey of the whole Singapore market, only the rooms we checked to make sure nothing on this page overstates the building.

| Marina Bay Sands, Sands Grand Ballroom | 5,610 theatre, 3,980 banquet |

Questions organisers ask
What size conference can it hold?
Up to 3,000 theatre style or 1,800 at banquet in the Fairmont Ballroom, a 2,257 square metre room with a 6 metre ceiling, by the hotel’s capacity chart. It divides into three rooms, Padang, Canning and Collyer, of 754 square metres and 900 theatre each.
What else is there besides the main ballroom?
Two more ballrooms. The Stamford Ballroom is 810 square metres and takes 850 theatre or 480 banquet, and divides into two rooms of 325 theatre. The Atrium Ballroom takes 400 theatre or 320 banquet. Below those sit meeting rooms from 44 to 183 square metres, 34 rooms in all by the hotel’s count.
How many guest rooms does it have?
778 rooms and suites, each with a private balcony, by the hotel’s count. That houses a large conference under one roof, with a club lounge for delegates on the upper floors.
Where is it?
At 80 Bras Basah Road in Raffles City, in the Civic District between Marina Bay and the colonial district. The event floor is Raffles City Convention Centre, which the hotel shares with the Swissôtel in the same complex.
Who does it suit?
A large association or corporate conference that wants the plenary, the breakouts, the gala dinner and the delegates in one building, in the middle of the city. It also suits running two or three events at once across its three ballrooms.

Sources, photography and how we work
Capacities read from the venue’s own published material on 22 September 2026. Comparison figures read from each named venue’s own published material on the same date.
We do not see every room on every visit. Where we were not in a room, its figures come from the venue's own chart rather than from us. We do not rate or score venues and we do not publish rates.
Our service is free to you. We are independent of every venue we put forward, no venue is favoured, and your interests come first.
